04The story
The story
Farmhouse 1 is a new addition to the compound: a freestanding Northern New Mexico farmhouse, fresh, luminous, and designed with space efficiency. An open floor plan with a king bed, a full kitchen, a living area, and a designated work area. The thirty-foot covered portale expands the living space, with epic sunsets, outdoor living and dining, and a firepit. Private drive and parking, and a western exposure where you can see for miles!
The history of the property dates way back: it was designated a Spanish land grant by Spain in 1745. We have a copy of a letter from the King of Spain, and the letterhead reads La Villa Real de la Santa Fe de San Francisco de Asís, the name the Spanish gave to Santa Fe when they arrived in the late 1500s. It is important to note that the Native Pueblo Tewa culture was here long before the Spanish, and they had their own name, Ogha P’o’oge, often translated as “White Shell Water Place.”
It is a love nest for couples and an up-leveled landing for a single traveler on a personal retreat. Trails start off the property, five museums and the Botanical Garden are a walk away, and the Plaza is eight minutes by car.
“Our farmhouses are fresh and luminous, and definitely the ultimate love nest for couples and an uplifting, insular retreat for singles.”
Kris, the creatress
